Secondary Mathematics education in the United States is accompanied by a series of national mathematics competitions of increasing difficulty: American Mathematics Competition (AMC), American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), and USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). Some colleges have begun asking their applicants for their AMC and AIME scores on their application forms.
