Introduction

Hey! My name's Aarushi Thejaswi (she/her) and I'm from NJ. I've been doing CTY online courses since like 3rd grade and went to CTY summer in 2019 because my two friends that went in 2018 LOVED it... now I understand why :)

I go to Lancaster session 1. I like making slideshows :)

I really like KIVO's vanilla yogurt with granola. I got it almost every day at CTY after I discovered it and I was always very sad on the days they didn't have vanilla yogurt because the strawberry one was too sweet in my opinion.

i know basic raving (2 beat, 3 beat, and i forgot what the other stuff is called)

i'm good at card games (my favorites are ERS, mao, and spit)

Just a collection of things I've written over time in an attempt to express what my three weeks of CTY mean to me.

I honestly can't believe it's only been three weeks since I met all of you. Looking back at how awkward we were in the beginning, it's amazing how close we've become!!! But then I realize why: because you guys are honestly the best hall I could have EVER asked for. You are all such smart, caring, and funny people. Thank you guys so mcuh for giving me an AMAZING first experience of CTY. I had so much fun this session and I'll miss you guys so much!!! I hope we can see each other again! I like you, I love you, I CTY you <3

cty 2020 was cancelled, and that's pretty sad. honestly though, now that i think about it, that decision was definitely for the best...

even though i technically have another year, 2021 is still questionable for me. but even if i don't wind up going back, it's ok. it doesn't matter if the messages on the back of my cty shirt have faded, or that our group chat is pretty much dead, or that i'll probably never see any of these wonderful people who i considered my family ever again. i'll never forget the friends i met, the experiences i had, and the memories we made. cty was the best part of my summer last year and i'll always be grateful to the program and to lancaster for the amazing three weeks i was lucky enough to spend at franklin & marshall college in lancaster, pennsylvania during the summer of 2019 <3

i only have one more year at this wonderful place. one more set of dances, one more love tape day, one more cross dress day, one more set of hallmates, classmates, and friends, one last passionfruit...

i can't wait to go back to this place i call home, but at the same time, i don't want to go back. i want time to speed up and slow down at the same time. because next time i go to cty, i know it'll be my last. and now, right after listening to people's heart-filled speeches about how much this place means to them, that's a pretty scary thought.

hey aarushi! first of all, you are absolutely correct about the vanilla kivo yogurt with granola. the kivo yogurt simply hits different and no one can tell me otherwise. you are clearly a woman of taste. secondly, you are so so sweet and it's been awesome getting to know you over virtual session! even though i wish we could've met in person, i'm so grateful that i've gotten the chance to get to know you online. you are absolutely lovely and i cty you very much <3
