Greek 2 was a new course this year. I think our TA said that it was offererd once before but didn't continue. As one of the sixteen people who took it this year, I thought I'd write an entry.
We used the Hansen and Quinn book, which has perviously and still is used at the St. Mary's site. That resulted in mass depression among fromer Lancaster Greek 1 students becsue we were all behind in pretty much everything. However, we were able to get it together by the second week, and got to unit 9 in the book.
Aside from that, we read the Iliad, though we had to skip some of the books that were about the death and killing of people less important than Achilles, and Plato's Symposium. We were supposed to watch Troy on the last day, but for some reason, CTY Admin had a problem with the showing of R rated movies...
Overall, I think it was a good course, and I base this on the facts that I learned things, I had fun, and we pranked the latin class. I encourage people to take GRK2 so that it can become a more refined course. Of course, this all depends on whether it is even offered next year.I hope it is, becasue all the Greeklings need a new home.
