Bristol 13.2 The Russian Mafia If you were there you will fully understand this, but I am here to talk about this group of girls that somehow got into to CTY. There was this group of Russian girls who fully called themselves the Russian mafia. Let me just say, these girls totally deserved that name. It was totally unacceptable for them to be at this campus and be criticizing the people and the traditions of CTY. First of all, these girls were the snobbiest, rudest, and most idiot CTY campers I have ever met. Prior to this year, I knew a couple of them and they had always been a bad and very flirtatious crowd. I gave them a chance, but they totally blew it when they started to make fun of scholarship kids. They were talking about how lame it is that people would need money to afford CTY because it isn't that much, and it's not worth it. First of all, some people really love coming back to camp and seeing old friends and making knew ones. I am a scholarship kid and if I hadn't gotten that scholarship I wouldn't have been able to return to the one place that makes me happy. They had the audacity to make fun of kids who were smarter than them, but had a little bit of financial issues. They should be jealous that scholarship kids got offered scholarship and they didn't. We all get the same experience except for less money. CTY is the one place where most kids can finally break out of their shells and be themselves and they downgrade these kids like it's their job. These girls were crazy judgmental and very rude, and were not deserving of the experience that CTY provided them with. I know I am being very judgmental in a sense that I am creating this, but these girls made a few kids even cry because of their actions and their words. The "Russian Mafia" enjoyed causing pain to people and acting on the big shots on campus, they were like the equivalent to the Plastics, except there were five of them and they weren't as hot. Their next offense was getting caught sucking face at the dances. Okay I understand that you have hormones or whatever and kissing is fun and yay mono, but really? They got caught like 20 times, couldn't they learn by then? I mean, they are at an academic camp. Next, they got one of my friends in trouble for having a picture of one of their butts on his phone. She was perfectly alright with the picture and even pestered him into doing it, and she wouldn't speak up and say the truth about his actions. We do not CTY the Russians. No.
