Amazing class, especially at Lancaster and Carlisle and Los Angeles.  A knowledge of Latin (and Greek) will be extremely useful to someone taking this course, as much of the course involves Latin word roots (and Greek word roots).

Remember, always dance to The Adventure of English soundtrack.  Beware the The Adventure of English movies, they talk almost directly out of the book you'll be reading, and are extremely boring, though they do feature awesome theme music.
 
 
 
Be prepared.  In the class, you will need 500-700 flash cards, but the class is fun.

Rosie had a rep in our class for using CTY innapropriate a lot. We "invented" the phrase CTYI until we found out that that was already in use. Great minds think alike. Oh well. Bad things were written about Rosie in the reviews, one person going as far as to say that she should "take the stick out of her ass and get laid." 
 
In 06.1, three different courses are done in three days.  One day we did Etymologies, then the next Existentialism, then Geopolitics.
 
 
 
For Everyone in ETYM_LAN_06_2, we all know that Joe Groves is and always will be the coolest T.A. that ever lived. none of us will ever foerget the clown joke, or Cinna the Poet. (I'm Cinna The Poet!)
 
 
 
For Everyone in ETYM_LAN_07_1, we all know that spore cows rock, dead baby/lawyer jokes are banned, the Magna Mater is to be worshipped, we are all pumas, Beowulf could swim in 90 pound armor AND a sword, Matt was everyone in Julius Caesar, and Prongs shall never be forgotten.
 
 
 
For Everyone in ETYM_LAN_07_2, we all know that Joe Groves should smile more, and gave his Lanyard to Nine. Also Sean Lake is a beast for ripping off his shirt during class.
