In 09.1, there was a swine flu outbreak. It started in a boys' hall and started spreading to other halls during the second week. Numerous students began coming down with fevers and several had to go home. Soon CTY campers were moved to a different dining hall to avoid spreading the swine flu to university students and other camps. Students joked that they were "quarantined". During the last week of the session RAs and instructors had to take everyone's temperature every few hours to make sure everyone was healthy.
