Course Description

From the CTY Course Catalog (1996):

Courses in CTY's Mathematics Sequence are taught in an individually paced format. Geometry will continue to be available in that format to students enrolled in the Sequence. However, geometry is usually the first experience most students have with formal proof. Many students find they are more comfortable in a geometry course that is taught in a lecture format. This year CTY has decided to allow students the option of applying directly for a lecture-format course in geometry. The instructors will be sensitive to the needs and abilities of all students in the classes, but will attempt to pace their classes so that most students will be able to complete a full course in geometry by the end of the session. Successful completion of the lecture-based geometry course will require a sustained effort and the same high level of performance as required of students in the Math Sequence.
