About Me

Hey there! My name is Alexander, or Alex, for short. I was a flying squirrel but decided to settle at Skidmore College (SAR). I'm a big aerospace nerd, and have interests in nearly every STEM field there is! I also love games and programs pertaining to these fields, such as Kerbal Space Program, MS Flight Simulator, Orbiter, and X-Plane. I have attended CTY courses since 2014 and love every moment I spent in each. Especially raving. I love raving and wish to learn everything I can about the art.

CHS - 14.1

Course: Flight Science (now defunct)

Notes: The red lanyard I received from this session was lost in the move of my residence from China to the USA.

JHU - 15.1

Course: Astrophysics

Notes: Arguably the dumbest decision I made during my years at CTY as practically everything went over my head. I did have fun building rockets in Kerbal Space Program though!

Raving: I picked up a pair of duds from another camper and spent much free time swinging them around. I watched others and self-taught basic moves such as 2-beat, 3-beat, and butterfly.

SAR - 16.1

Course: Electrical Engineering

RA: Quanah, aka the best guitar player I knew at the time.

Instructor: Chris, loved him, he knew what he was doing and made the course interesting and fun.

Notes: During a class session we were told to test our multimeters with some electric current. Me being dumb, I stuck the prongs into an outlet by my seat and promptly created a large bang and flash of light. Thankfully, no one noticed.

Raving: I met and made friends with ravers Piper Fahey, Zoe White, and Henry (sorry), who taught me many moves such as corkscrew, thread the needle, and much more. We have continued (albeit poorly) correspondence at similar programs like MIT SPLASH.
