Hello.

Hello.

My name is Dan Salvato. I have gone to CTY Lancaster Session 1 for all of my years of CTY, and I dream to become an RA there after my senior year in high school. I am probably most well-known for my breakdancing during the Talent Show and after the ravers at the dances during the songs "Sandstorm" and "James Brown is Dead." I also take the game Four-Square to a very extreme level, and I bring my own ball every year.

I have invented a dance known as the Dr. Mario Dance. It is done to the Dr. Mario theme song, as composed for the game "Super Smash Bros. Melee." The dance involves quickly leaning from one direction to the other while pumping your arms sideways in the direction of the way you lean - it is very hard to describe. Regardless, the Dr. Mario Dance is considered popular enough to be included in the Lower Canon, and a vote will be held this year.

For those of you who support the Dr. Mario Dance, thank you so much. I am very excited to see how far it gets in tradition, specifically how long it manages to remain a part of the Lower Canon.

Hello.

My name is Dan Salvato. I have gone to CTY Lancaster Session 1 for all of my years of CTY, and I dream to become an RA there after my senior year in high school. I am probably most well-known for creating the Dr. Mario Dance, as well as breakdancing during the Talent Show and at the dances during the songs "Sandstorm" and "James Brown is Dead." I also take the game Four-Square to a very extreme (but non-competitive) level.

For those of you who support the Dr. Mario Dance, thank you so much. I am very excited to see how far it gets in tradition, specifically how long it manages to remain a part of the Lower Canon.

You can see a video of my '07 hall performing the Dr. Mario Dance here.

A video of me doing the dance alone can be found here.

Also, here is a video of one of my breakdancing moves, the windmill. It took me an entire year to learn, and I'm very happy that I can finally do it.

At Passionfruit during my third year of CTY (2007), the Holy Grail of the Son was passed on to me by Tina Ritter. The Holy Grail of the Son represents creativity, creating new CTY tradition, and staying fresh and on top of things. It is an incredible honor to be given possession of the Grail, and I hope it will be passed into worthy hands for years to come.

At Passionfruit during my fourth and final year of CTY (2008), I passed down the Holy Grail of the Son to Alex "Sasha" Ayvazov. Sasha truly understands the beauty and value of CTY and is a wonderful, loving person. I know he will make a great Son.

During CTY 2007, I was roommates with Zev Hurwich. This was an incredible blessing, as that was Zev's last year as a CTY student, and I can think of few people I look up to as much as him.

If you ever need a hug, you can always count on me. I love CTY and I love each and every one of you, and I hope you treasure the experience as much as I did.
