True; but we want the alumni group to survive, and RealCTY can get that done, I think.  Also, I'm thinking about making a RealCTY Myspace/LiveJournal/genericblogtypething, so that reunion dates can be listed, etc.  Tell me if it's a good idea.  Don't actually make the username RealCTY, though.  I think the access to said sites should be passed on as well.  That way, we can keep the database consistent throughout all popular social sites.

Can you catagorize people in general?

Zeke has a category because, aside from being a person, he's also an inside joke. People, whether users or just student pages, should be left uncategorized.

And calling me a wikinazi isn't? Can you really blame me for bringing back logins, and then trying to keep the quality of the site up? I know I've been cracking down on people a bit to be careful with their edits, but then again, we don't really need pages like FNORD, albeit that's an exaggeration.

As far as the alumni thing goes, that refers to RealCTY. You can't officially create an unofficial organization. RealCTY, mailing lists, etc. are the ways students get in touch with each other. --Max W. 07:34, 9 September 2006 (MST)


I'm pretty sure an alumni organization existed a while back as well, but it became defunct, much like the CTY student listings by year webpage, the Alcove message boards, and the official CTY-L (which is rarely very active). RealCTY still survives, because it's not just a source for contact, it's also a source for information. The people who want to stay in touch with each other will want to stay in touch with the happenings at CTY, and vice versa. I still feel that the website is a good way to keep CTYers together. Besides, it's consistent. I, for example, don't have a LiveJournal. Some people don't have gmail, making a Google Group hard to use; some don't have Myspaces, where there are different groups, and some people had their email spelled wrong on the UCLDOOM.
