Monty Python Madness is a performance of many famous Monty Python scenes as done by CTY students at Lancaster, Session 2. During 05.2, Nikka and Inbar began the tradition by asking the staff to allow them to perform during a Quad Time of the last week of camp. They did, and it was relatively successful. So, they decided to pass down the tradition via their homemade 16-ton weight, which was given to Jeff Sachs; they also wanted to pass down a duct tape parrot (named Bob by Inbar), but it was lost. This position is now known as Head Monk

In 06.2, the tradition was continued, and a new parrot was made (as well as a duct tape gun for Self Defense Against Fresh Fruit). Both the gun and the 16 Ton Weight were subsequently passed down to Kathy Ingram by Jeff. They have been temporarily adopted by Michelle Rush, their loving foster parrent, because the airport security guards would not let Kathy Ingram take them on the plane to Iowa. The new parrot was passed to Kathy Ingram by Sean Zimmermann, and was renamed Mr. Jones in honor of Sean's former science teacher (who told Sean about CTY).

Sean's science teacher, Mr. Jones, died on September 3, 2006.

Sketches

Traditional (as much as they can be in two years) sketches for Monty Python Madness include:

  • "Wink, Wink (Nudge, Nudge)"
  • "Self Defense Against Fresh Fruit" (starring, for the first time, the 16 Ton Weight!!!!!!!)
  • "The Spanish Inquisition"
  • "Argument Clinic"
  • "Dead Parrot" (starring the Duct Tape Parrot)

Songs

The show ends with a sing-along (time permitting). Songs that cannot be sung during quad time (either due to time constraints of 'other' reasons) and usually sung at the Passing of the Duck. Songs include:

  • "Lumberjack":
  • "Philosophers' Drinking Song"
  • "Every Sperm Is Sacred" (from Meaning of Life):
  • "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" (from Life of Brian)
