About Fast-Paced High School Chemistry

What To Expect/Advice

At LMU the CHEM teacher and TA for the past couple years (I think) were Mr. Dobrenen (Mr. D) and Sonya. Awesome people. If you're taking this class, be sure you have a calculator. The first day might be a bit bad because they give you the pretest, which of course you're supposed to know nothing about. That's why you're taking the course, right? You may feel dumb afterwards. The class takes a lot (when I say a lot I mean a spiral notebook, even if you have small handwriting) of notes, mostly off PowerPoint presentations. Labs are fun, and stuff catches fire and blows up. A lot. This course moves very very quickly, so if you feel overwhelmed try your best to relax. Awesome, fun class overall.

Be warned: You will want to bring a camera with video capabilities. There is a high probability your instructor will let you know before you blow stuff up. Probably.

First day: Pretest, supposed to get better in the future. Second day: Give info to others about yourself.

"Bring pennies, especially if being taught by Mrs. Provenza."

Course Reviews

This was a very fascinating course to take. Teacher, Dallik, and TA Britt. Awesome people to hang around. From this course, i have a superb knowledge of chemistry. (ik that this might be bad grammar but oh well. i did too bad in the humanities part)

Bring pennies if you take this course, especially if Mrs. Provenza is your teacher. Also, this course helped me a lot, and i mean A LOT in AP Bio, when we study chem. Now I have a great knowledge of chemistry.

A course that only VERY COOL Car05.2'ers took. The first line is a lie. The MUCH COOLER than Car05.2'ers Lou06.1'ers took.

Traditions?

It has been noted on various pages that certain classes were known to have a uni-personality during some sessions, and classes like Game Theory have created long-lasting clubs and mini-traditions/phases. Have any of the CHEM students done similarly notable things?
