FLAAR is a card game that was created by RAs Matt, Jeff, and Laurie (from this point on refered to as FLAAR Masters). It was run as an activity at least once per week, with a Make Your Own FLAAR once per session. The best way to describe FLAAR is by saying "FLAAR cannot be described, but only experienced." FLAAR at Lancaster
FLAAR had become popular at Lancaster in the summer of 04, however died out soon afterwards. Then in 08.1, the Fast Paced High School Physics Class B TA, Louis Klapper, decided to reinvigorate it. He created the activity "FLAAR: the Lost CTY Tradition", and used some students from his class as the FLAAR masters (referred to in context as "head FLAARs"), whom he had taught how to play earlier in the session. After the activity, FLAAR was a game that could be seen around the campus regularly, with many people cracking up at some of the plays. Louis was contacted by the original FLAAR masters who said that they were pleased. Louis has one card from the FLAAR prime deck in his FLAAR deck.
FLAAR RPS
In 2012.01 and 2012.02, RA Steve (a former co-RA of Jeff) offered FLAAR Rock Paper Scissors edition once each session. In this variation of the game, two players went head-to-head and threw anything they wanted (not just the traditional rock, paper, or scissors) and then had to justify why their throw beat their opponent's. The audience, Steve, and an SRA chose the winner of each matchup. The ultimate winner: Schrodinger's cat.
