Monty Python

Monty Python is a superorgasmically funny, absurdist comedy group based in England. The group's original vehicle was their television show, Monty Python's Flying Circus, which ran from 1969 to 1974 on the BBC. After the series ended, each member did individual projects, but they collaborated on three films: Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Monty Python's The Life of Brian (1979), and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (1983). The group also performed live, including at the Hollywood Bowl (released in theatrical form in 1980) and in appearances for the Amnesty International Secret Policeman's Ball.

As an homage to the Pythons, CTYers at Lancaster Session 2 have, since 2005, put on Monty Python Madness, a collection of student-performed skits during Quad Time on the last Tuesday of the session.

Note: The average airspeed velocity of an unladen European swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour, beating its wings 7-9 times per second rather than 43. And a 5 ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut.
